Howling Winds And Repair Make for A Late Start

Neither of us got out of our tents until 8:00 a.m. today. No point - the winds are howling. Randy needs to repair his brakes, so we used the courtesy car at the airport to run around town looking for everything he needs. Vince Viaro from Benson, AZ drove out to meet us for lunch and come back to the airport with us. He's been in touch by e-mail and it's fun to meet him in person. He loaned us the Central and Eastern Flight Guides - we've never needed anything beyond the Western. What a nice loan.
The winds are still howling, but fairly steady. We'll have a strong crosswind along our route yet we plan to be in the air today.
Mid-Afternoon Balloon - couldn't even earn the title of Noon Balloon today!
